Steve K.
Can anyone show the correct ribbon for this medal? I have seen it with the pale blue Guelphic Order ribbon and the Langanzalsa ribbon as a loose medal but never mounted. Thanks,Steve
Wild Card
Hello Steve K.,The Hannoverian General Decoration for Military Merit, which was awarded from 1841 to 1866, had, as you can see below, quite a unique ribbon. The significance of the colors and pattern of this ribbon escape me.This medal was awarded in one grade - exactly like yours. Mine apparently was privately gilded. Incidentally, as with most Hannoverian medals, the name of the recipient should be impressed on the rim of the medal.Best wishes,Wild Card
Steve K.
Thank you Wildcard! That is a spectacular ribbon. This is the first time I've seen it...and I love it! I can now search for the correct piece of ribbon, which I'm sure will be no easy task.BTW, I prefer your thicker ?se over mine!Steve

Wild Card
Hello Steve K.,I cannot recall ever seeing this medal mounted on a bar either first hand or in a picture. There are Forum members who have some amazing photo archives which might produce results. We can only hope.Regards,Wild Card
