Ivan Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 (edited) This was another photo amongst my friend's late Grand-Fathers collection. Are the Gentlemen here Military casualties? No information on reverse, but I take it it is WW1 period?thanks Edited January 22, 2009 by Ivan
Verdun16 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 (edited) Hi, Yes, these men are indeed First War casualties who are recovering from their wounds or sickness. The main clue is that the men are wearing the standard blue suit that was worn by those who were back in England to recover. Hope this has been some help,Bryan Edited January 22, 2009 by Verdun16
Ivan Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Bryan, thanks for that. Another piece of the jigsaw comes together. It ties in with a regt ident photo I put on the British Empire & Commonwealth Militaria page. Looking closely tha same gentleman is in both photos. in the other picture, he is seen posing behind a unexploded/damaged shell and he has a 'wound stripe' on his sleeve. Many thanks,Ivan.
