Bear Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Hello,I'm trying to put a date on this uniform(pre or post 1815). I've been tolds maybe a Commissioner of War uniform no epaulettes. The medal is either the Ordre de Saint Louis or the L?gion d?honneur.thanks, barry
noir 7 Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 For the uniform, I don't know. For the medal, I think it's the Legion d'honneur, because it seems to be a star with 5 branches, when the order of Saint-Louis is a cross with 4 branches.
Bear Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 Thanks Noir I noticed the medal last night while looking around for the uniform. I thought at first he might be a doctor or commissioner but after going through some refs. they both had maroon/red collars. If I had to guess I would say some sort of medical uniform. I went ahead and bought the darn thing. thanks again, barrySurgeon Larrey
