Roman-- the scan color looks like Luftwaffe GRAY, not army DARK GREEN?

The pattern of NCO braid is also "checkerboard" used by the Luftwaffe rather than the army's "diamond" pattern.

It looks to me like the piping was pale blue and has faded white on top?

I think, that it is early Shoulderboards.

At an early stage army used different shades of grey colour and "checkerboard".

It it looks like Reichswehr but the color is way off.

I've never seen that braided Waffenfarbe trim before the war, either.

I think this is a strap from one of the Luftwaffe Field Divisions.
