Guest Rick Research Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 This medal has a very nice pedigree, so I am particularly glad that the Traveling Museum brought it by to be Epsonized.Named to John Stanwick (varoosly spellded Stanrick or even Schlawick ) 7th Line Battalion King's German Legion, Detachment. There were 15 men in the detached squad. THIS medal is ONE of TWO known to exist.
Guest Rick Research Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Pedigree: Payne Collection 1911/ Glendining 1918. Baldwin 1953. Hayward 1974. After that the modest Traveling Museum wishes not to add more until it is in the next collection-- and many many years into the future for that, hear hear!
Ulsterman Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 7th Line Bttn! That may explain the two Carl Poten medals.Where was that detachment?
