KDVR Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I got that nice Finnish medal lot. The seller told me, that the father of his wife (she is from Finland) got those medals during WWII. I made some research and I found out that this are:1. The commemorative medal of winter war 1939 - 19402. The commemorative medal of the continuation war 1941 - 19453. Badge for the Finnish reserve officer course4. Badge for a customs award / medal?5. Finnish coat of the arms - I think nothing official - who knows more?Do you know if this Badge of the reserve officer course is a WWII era type? The screw is marked BARCK HELSINIKI. I know that this badge was also given after WWII to participants of that reserve officer course.Do you have more information about that customs award? How much is the approximate value of that reserve officer badge and the customs award (only for insurance reasons).Thank you KDVR
Peter J Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Badge #4 is the 15 Year badge for Centralhandelskammaren (Central Chambers of Commerce). I'm not certain about #3, but I suspect it's post war produced. cheersPeter
KDVR Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Many thanks Peter - what do you think about the value?
Peter J Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 That is always very subjective, but I'd guess in the vicinity of ?50 for the whole lot. cheersPeter
KDVR Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 Hi Peter What do you think about the three badges? Pre or post WWII? Value? Thank you! KDVR
Peter J Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Both crosses are as far as I know post-WW2. I'm not familiar with the institution date of the 3rd badge, but I believe it's a civilian shooting award. cheers Peter
KDVR Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 Thank you Peter! What do you think about its value?
Peter J Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Less than the ones in the other post. cheers Peter
