FrontlineAntiques
Italian Cap Badgethe cap badge for Royal Carabinieri (Military Police) with the flaming granade and VE monogram to the centreNote the lack of sewing holes that is common on these badges.I have seen a number of these, but i think that this is the nicest one i have had. It is a shame that one of the pins has snapped.Would anyone advocate fixing the pin, or leaving it as is?

FrontlineAntiques
The above Royal Carabinieri actually came with this little chap - which i first thought was a British Grenadier Guards badge. What are your thoughts? It is very heavy weight, with odd luggs to the rear.
leigh kitchen
Comments on the brass grenade as per this thread:http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=37589&hl=So it's possibly Italian then?I need to loook at illustrations I've got of Carabinieri to check insignia & horse furniture. I take it that the "VE" monogram on the Carabinieri badge stands for "Victor Emmanuel"?I've worked with Carabinieri & saw plenty of their paras around some years ago but can't remmeber if they have any device on the ball of the grenade now?
