DDR Dating headwear

Hi all ,

I,ve just aquired my first 2 pieces of headgear .

Winter Officers hat and Para Officers field beret can anyone help with dating these !

first up the Winter Hat it has a clear plastic celluloid / plastic strip and under neath this is the code :

NVA 56 1856 1 6

Stamped in helmet : II 5 81 so i,m presuming 1981 ?

II G would be 2nd Quarter 1981

On the Para Beret, I N would be 1st Quarter 1989. It also appears to be Size 2 which is next to the smallest size (1-4).
