My first US M1 helmet

I bought this helmet on friday, for about nine dollars, at a local car boot sale. I am no expert, but I believe that it is a Mc Cord manufactured, front seam, fixed bale M1 helmet shell. I have been told that the helmet was manufactured in 1943 or 1944. It has a very nice patina, and I guess that someone has used it for cooking. It has a sooty stain on the top of the helmet. I have allways wanted one of these, and now I got one. I hope you like it.
