avadski Posted July 29, 2009 Author Share Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) I believe these are often faked by using the 2nd class with application of new gold plating which is then aged a little bit. That's why I pointed out the vanishing gold on the sword handles. On the other hand I can't imagine how to fake the center medailon since the letter 'L', the ornament and the belt on the 2nd class are in silver covered by enamel.
