Did individuals transferring from say Uhlans, change their basic piping to red? Of that, I'm not sure. I have a chance to pick up a coat with these boards. The coat is identical to the one Richtofen is wearing in this photo. I've been told the "Made in Germany" stamp was sometimes put on insignia and some other items brought back as war booty.
