Guest Rick Research Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 That poor old cap is beyond all help! Interesting "K" cockade-- I've never seen one with a metal center like that.
Iver Posted August 16, 2009 Author Posted August 16, 2009 That poor old cap is beyond all help! Interesting "K" cockade-- I've never seen one with a metal center like that. I know its in bad condition, I could buy me a nice piece, but this one belonged to oberleutnant Jozsef Scholtis of HIR16, a regiment from Banská Bystrica - my city and I also have other stuff that belonged to him... so this one has a great value for me :)
Gordon Craig Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Iver, Too bad the cap is in such poor condition. Glad though that it has historical interest, and of geat interest to you, when added to the other artifacts you own from the same person. Dangerous piece to put next to anything made of wool though! I saw one of these caps in Vienna today and it was in very good condition. Couldn't buy it though as my suitcaes is full to bursting and at the maximum for weight allowance. Regards, Gordon
Iver Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 Gordon: there are no moths in the cap no more... but i keep the cap alone... so i will let the cap as it is...
