Tony Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Hello, Can anyone tell me anything about these two men from their uniforms? Are they infantry, NCOs, officers? The photo was taken in England, on the reverse in English is: I give you this photograph remembrance. Yours truly V. Mogiluy (?) Tony
Paul L Murphy Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 The one on the left looks like a sergeant, given the horizontal braid bars on the shoulder boards.
Tony Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 The one on the left looks like a sergeant, given the horizontal braid bars on the shoulder boards. Thanks Paul. Would you have any idea why these men could have been in the UK? It's noted on the reverse in modern handwriting that they were in Lewisham military hospital but I don't know how true this may be. Tony
Sergey W Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Thanks Paul. Would you have any idea why these men could have been in the UK? The second one is a private. Could you zoom the shoulderstrap of NCO to get more information.
Tony Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Hello Sergey, I have blown the photo up as best I can. Hope you can tell me more. Thanks Tony
Sergey W Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 (edited) Hello Sergey, I have blown the photo up as best I can. Hope you can tell me more. Thanks Tony OK. It gives a hypothesis. If the NCO has a III (Roman figure) on his shoulderstrap, he may served in Russian Expedition Corp in France or Thessaloniki during WWI. Look here Best regards.
