cwaver Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 This was my father before the war. Can anyone identify it please?
The Monkey God Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Hi cwaver, Now I`m by no means an expert, but I don`t think he served in the British army if that helps any?
The Monkey God Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Sorry ignore my last post, didn`t see the Polish bit.
IrishGunner Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 (edited) Definitely an enlisted soldier from the Polish 2nd Republic - between the wars. It looks like a tinted photo. The color on his czapka refers to his branch. Red is for military police (or medical personnel depending on the shade). (Red is the usual color for artillery - however, in Polish tradition, artillery color is green.) Edited February 1, 2010 by IrishGunner
cwaver Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 could this be a military acedemy uniform?
GregK Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hi Claude, As the photo is a little blurry it is hard for me to make out the details. Can you confirm that the color of the collar badges is yellow, red stripe, and white? If not then please clarify the color and I will get you all the information you need. Thanks, Greg
Mervyn Mitton Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I appreciate this is a new member and I do not wish to be rude - however, this uniform should be on the Polish sub-forum. Not under British Medals. Could a Moderator transfer both posts ?
