I always loved the M1917 .45 and I was pleased to read my friend John's take on it:

I actually inherited one from my great uncle. I will treasure that gun always.

I own a S&W M1917 (Brazilian Contract). After I bought I simply fell in love for such revolvers.

Now I'm looking for another one to use it as a shooter and even as a home defense weapon.

They are nice.

my brother has the one carried by my grandfather in WW1.

actually didn't get much use, as he was a battalion surgeon...

sorry, but i'll ALWAYS be a sucker for the 1911....
