Iver Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Hello.. I have bought a decree for mr. Gustav Bernau to "Oberarzt im Verhältnis der Evidenz der k.k. Landwehr" dated 5.1.1915... but no other informations.. so I would like to ask colegues that have literature, can someone find something about this person? (photo of decree will be added tomorrow)...
Glenn J Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Hello Iver, I am afraid I have very little on Oberarzt Bernau. He is shown in the 1918 k.k. Landwehr Rangliste still as an Oberarzt im Verhätnis der Evidenz with seniority of 15 December 1914 (20). He had been awarded the bronze military merit medal (Signum Laudis). Regards Glenn
Iver Posted September 30, 2010 Author Posted September 30, 2010 (edited) Glenn J: thanks for informations! i have found out something about him. He was born in 1876 in family of Bedřich (Friedrich) Bernau, who was amatour historian and writer (his former name was not som german, but pure czech - Přemysl Cyril Bačkora) and author of book "Political district of Dubá" (Der politische Bezirk Dauba) published in 1888 and was for this monography awarded with medal on Provincial Jubilee exposition in Prag in 1891. His father, Josef Množislav Bačkora (02.02.1803 - 05.12.1876), was pedagogue, writer and czech patriot and his father, František (Franz) Bačkora worked as a school assistant ..and if everithing goes OK, I will have his photo in uniform (at least scan of it) in week or so.. :) Edited September 30, 2010 by Iver
