HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 It would appear that there is interest in these so here's some shots of my small collection. These awards are so new that it's very difficult finding them in the wild. This is my highest award, Medal for Merit to the Country 2nd class civilian division:
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Order for Military Merit. There's also one for Naval Merit.
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Medal for Bravery. It looks almost identical to it's Soviet counterpart but is missing the CCCP inscription on the bottom and is made out of a cheaper German Silver.
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Here's an interesting one! This is the offically struck Medal of Nakhimov that was never approved by the government but was struck by the mint in anticipation of it being approved! The whole batch was ordered to be destroyed but a few pieces made it out the back door and there are a few dozen in the wild.
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Life Saving Medal. This is another one of the medals that left the mint through the back door and was not engraved.
David Gregory Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Although I don't collect any Russian stuff (yet), these are nice items with an interesting blend of Soviet and Imperial designs and motifs.Where do you find current Russian awards?
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Here are the 2 variations of the post-Soviet Union Border Guard Medal.1st Medal is the transitional piece that looks just like the Soviet one except it's missing the CCCP
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Here's the official Russian Federation version.
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Here's 2 versions of the Medal for Protection of Public Order1st one looks like the Soviet one except the reverse has a different crest.
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Here's the official Russian Federation medal.Notice that the medal has the Imperial look to it.
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 That's all I have here for now...There are a few more medals that I have at home but have not had a chance to take pictures of...Enjoy,Rusty.

Danny Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 300th of RF Navy. I was lucky to get it with an issued document.
Danny Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 A RF badge: Excellent bridge builder, so I am told.
HuliganRS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Danny,It's more like a roadbuilder badge. Thanks for posting the other medals that I don't have scans for. There are a few more that I still need to post...Rusty.

I have a 850 years of Moscow and a 60th of GPW. That's it for RF medals. I've also a 60th partisan medal on hold from Ron which I will get this month. Will be looking for more this year that's for sure. Edited January 6, 2006 by Danny
