Noor Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Hi, Here is some Japanese ribbon bars and I would like to be sure did I ID-d these ribbons right. Like I understand smallest (last two) are actually most intersting ones or not at least common.... one with the Boxer rebellion ribbon and other with the Tokyo 1923 earthquake medal? Horohito Enthronement Medal 4. 1931-1934 Manchurian Incident War Medal 5. 2,600th National Anniversary Commemorative Medal 6. Red Cross Medal/Order of Merit B. 1. Order of the Rising Sun 2. 1904-1905 Russo – Japanese War Medal, March 1906 3. 1914-1920 War Medal, "Taisho era 3rd-9th Years War" (1914-1920), actions in Siberia up to 1922. 4. Taisyou Emperor Enthronement Commemorative Medal (1915) C. 1. Order of the Sacred Treasure 2. 1900 “Boxer Rebellion” War Medal, April 1901 3. Order of the Rising Sun D. 1. Imperial Capital Rehabilitation Medal, Established in 1930 to commemorate the reconstruction of Tokyo after the 1923 earthquake. 2. Order of the Rising Sun 3. 1931-1934 Manchurian Incident War Medal
alex82 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Very nice bars! great collection! By C. are the numbers 1 and 3 interchanged… 3 is the Sacred Treasure and 1 the rising sun. best regards a l e x
Noor Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Thanks Alex to point it out - yes, you are right, pin direction indicates it However, can some expert explain how can be “campaign medal” between the State awards on that bar C ? Don’t know the imperial Japanese regulations well but can it be the case that the Rising Sun is order and Sacred Treasure medal? Also bar D - why medal is first and then Rising Sun? All the best, Timo
