Noor Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Hi, What you guys think about this small piece? Like many countries, was this a case in France as well that the foreign awards wasn't allowed to wear alone/or with the unofficil medals? Or most likelly this small piece is second row from larger set? Nothing on the back - just smaller size sew bar. - Verdun medal - Tunisian Order of Glory (Nichan Iftikhar)
Veteran Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Hi Noor You are right to assume that this may be the final part of a larger set of ribbons. These two probably were worn the other way round. First the green ribbon for the Tunisian order of Nichan Iftikar, then the red ribbon for the unofficial (but generally tolerated in veterans' groups) Verdun commemorative medal "awarded" by the City of Verdun. Happy collecting! Veteran
