Steve K.
Can anyone tell me the approximate age of this buckle and who may have worn it?
NavyFCO
It's a naval officer's sword belt buckle. I normally see them as two-piece ones though, this is the first single piece one that I've ever seen. The right facing eagle would indicate pre-May 1941 wear, but I can't pin it down farther.Dave
Steve K.
DaveThanks for your time searching for this one. A time frame has escaped me for years on this one. It is the only single piece U.S. Navy buckle I've ever seen. I was thinking it might date to 1880-1900 but that is a very uneducated guess.Steve
