    This is a North Korean Fatherland Liberation War Commemorative Medal, 1953.

    It was instituted in August, 1953 to mark what the North Korean Government believed was a victory in the Korean War.

    The Korean War is known as the Fatherland Liberation War in North Korea.

    It was awarded to Military and civilians who had participated in the war.

    The medal is 3-1/8 in. high and the planchet is 1-7/16 in. diameter.
