Gordon Williamson Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Grabbed this principally because I love these cases with the 1914/15 dated Crosses on the lid.
Gordon Williamson Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 Wonder why there are two core styles for the Fr (as opposed to FR) marked EK1s. One with the rounded top crown and one like this with the Hohenzollern Crown ??
DavidM Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 HelloA very nice, original item. Thanks for showing it.Could it be possible that the cores were made for Fr and they either used two suppliers or changed suppliers hence the two different styles of crown ?
Gordon Williamson Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 Variance in cores between EKs from the same manufacturer seems much more common in Imperial pieces than in TR crosses for sure.
buellmeister Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Mr. Williamson, I must say you have an exellent example of a cased Friedlander! Very Impressive! Interesting to see there were other Crown variations. I personally own a 2nd Class Fr. and of all in my limited collection it is my favorite. Thank you for posting it.Regards,Joel
