In a word, 'Yes'.   I have (?had) a list of the prefixes used on South African WWII medals that I will,post later.

I have not found the list yet, but below are photos of a medal group that belonged to Private A Mkize (N56102). who was attached to the South African Air Force in Italy.  He evidently wore his medals often, and, I assume, with pride!
