Lion101 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Hello eveyone, I got these shoulderboards from a friend who got these out of Libya despite the fact that there is a civil war going on. All of these shoulderboards are former Gaddifi Navy surplus. I have a few bags full of them. I would like to know what does it say at the bottom of the shoulder boards. My Arabic is pretty bad, so if someone could please help me out?
ChrisW Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 The Arabic probably reads "al-Koliyya al-Bahriyya" or "the Navy College." In my mind, that's what it should read. But the lettering is a little poor, making me think maybe they were manufactured in a non-Arabic speaking country. Your story about how you got them is pretty convincing -- I bought some similar ones years ago, which were sold to me as Egyptian. Now I have my doubts. Thanks for showing these!
Lion101 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Thank you for your help. I think the numbers on them are for 1st class and 2nd class.
