Hi there,

Could you tell me if there is a site/list where I can look up Special Constable, Long Service Medals going back from George V to present day? I am a member of Ancestry.com but nothing seems to come up with the searches.

During the reign of George V individual forces had their own long service medals. If you know the which force the individual served with then there is a possibility that records may still exist. But I have to say that since the 1960s police forces have been notoriously bad at preserving their histories.

Impressive collection..!

I have 4 such medals and because they are so hard to research I rely on finding a unique name to track on Ancestry. - My latest medal is a George V one to Constable Ormonde Stockwell - he is unique on Ancestry and was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, UK not far from my home town.

I bought one to Constable Septimus Dixon - sadly this is not a unique name would you believe...so I am trying to narrow dates down to find the exact man.

If you have an idea which force the man served in (Ormonde Stockwell was definitely West Riding Police) you could try contacting the force direct for help.
