Marcin L
Dear All, I would like to ask you for help with identifying the plate I present below. I think that the "W" monogram may be assigned to Wilhelm III, but I am not sure. Does anyone recognise the porcelain's signature? Kind regards, Marcin
Chip
That style "W" is commonly used by Braunschweig. However, the king's crown, doesn't make sense for Braunschweig. It appears to be a Prussian eagle on the reverse. Chip
Marcin L
Thank you Chip. I have received a message from one of German militaria dealers that this one is a plate of Kaiser Wilhelm I. (1861-1888) as King of Prussia. Regards, Marcin
