jaeger7
Gents, does anyone know who this Brigdier might be ? Picture was taken in Germany about 1956/57 Thank you for your help jaeger7
Mervyn Mitton
jaeger7 - this may be a tough one - unless he went on to hold high rank and therefore will have his picture more readily recognised. Do you have any further details that might help to 'pin' him down. He is wearing the metal shoulder straps that indicate probably an armoured Brigade ? You may find that the German press of the period could have carried his picture ? Anyway, we must hope one of our members will recognise him ? Bilco
Hi Jaeger, Seeing his aiguillette I wondered if he was an attache - could he be this man? http://murphyfuneralhome.frontrunnerpro.com/runtime/196/runtime.php?SiteId=196&NavigatorId=31048&op=tributeObituary&viewOpt=dpaneOnly&ItemId=748611&LinkId=221 Bill
jeffskea
I believe his rank epaulettes are those of a full Colonel (one crown, two bath stars) and I agree that it is most likely the man from the obituary - he is Canadian as his ribbons include the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Maple Leaf representing the overseas clasp, and the Canadian Forces Decoration. Having only the 1939-45 Star and F&G Star also lines up with his service from the obituary and he was the attache in Germany around the same time.
