AlecH Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Hello Richard, Regarding the fourth award " Bronze ---------"? I showed two dealers separately the wehrpass picture, both can read old german script, and both quite independently came out with "Bronze Mudannia" they had no idea what it meant. Unfortunately after looking through my military reference books and cataloges, I didn't find a mention of anything remotely similar. Looking at the the picture, it does seem to be written in the wehrpass as a after - thought, not at all in the normal chronological order, a entry made two years too late. Nonetheless a very interesting and valuable wehrpass. Regards AlecH
hankmeister Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 It looks to me like it was written at the same time...the U-boat abz. and EK 2 aren't in order either...Is there any other writing by the same hand in the wehrpass? Just by comparing to the other entries on that page, I get "..auia" as the last 4 letters. To me it could be a "d" or a "ch" preceding it. Might start with "M" but I'm not convinced of that.Very interesting!Hank
Richard Sysum Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Hello Everyone Thanks boys for taking a look here are some more pages to compare the writing Best Regards Richard..
hankmeister Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Well, I tried google for Mudania, and came up with this:http://www.telecable.es/personales/submari...ith/nasmith.htmNot sure what it's about, as I don't read spanish, but looks to be a difficult voyage by a sub. So maybe it was some sort of navigation award, named after ...?Shot in the dark, but might lead in the right direction.Hank
