This portrait was made during world cruise of a Reichsmarine cruiser "Emden" and it's one out of dozens of photos from my collection that were taken by a crew mwmber during circumnavigation. Guest Rick Research Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 That one has appeared in many books--perhaps he gave out copies as gifts? Here he is as a "baby" in 1905 with his younger brother Friedrich (*17.06.1888 Breslau--† 12.10.1969 Friedrichshafen)--later Luftwaffe Generalleutnant.
Freiwillige Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Thanks for your comment, Rick! In fact, that portrait was a part of a lot depicting of a world cruise of Emden II that I bought several years ago. All the photos that I managed to acquire can be found here: http://antique-photos.com/ru/maingalleryap/kreuzer-emden.html
