Guest Duncan Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Hello,I'm making a tentative expansion into US WWII medals and bought this one recently:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1Could some kind experts give me their opinions please? Have I bought a dud? My guess is that's it's an old and genuine medal, but not issued and hence not named?Duncan.
JBFloyd Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 It is a WWII-vintage DFC. In this case, it was made for the Navy (distinguished by the suspension ring at the top arm being braised on rather than an integral part of the pendant). It looks like it might have been re-ribboned, which many US collectors avoid.
