TacHel Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I've been seeing this medal come up on eBay and honestly can't ID it. The few Belgian military and civilian web sites I know of don't mention it... Is it new? Bogus? Any info would be appreciated...
Gldank Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Services Rendered Medal Awarded to active members of the Belgian armed forces in recognition of services rendered during a long period and in difficult circumstances for military personnel. Instituted on 18 April 1988, this medal has a plain reverse. Yours is the Type II
Gldank Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 (edited) The medal is the same for all three types but there is a different ribbon for each. Hope this helps. Edited June 28, 2012 by Gldank
TacHel Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 What I don't understand is for a medal that came out in 1988... Why isn't it on the Belgian defense site?
Gldank Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I can not answer that question but it is not a real rare medal. I have all the types and I have seen them in medal groups. I just saw about 10 of them while visiting Belgium last week.
