Malayan Emergency stories

I'm writing a piece about the Malayan Emergency, and would be very glad to have any war stories from veterans of your experiences. If it turns into anything worthwhile, I'll post it here.

I got interested in the Emergency when I lived in Singapore (1984-91).  As you can see, I wasn't overwhelmed by the responses, so the piece never got finished.  Still, it's fun to see your picture.  Got any good stories to tell?

I have one second hand story which is quite entertaining, if that's of any interest, from an RN National Srevice man who actually saw 'service ' ashore.
