Jef Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Dear Gents, Can anyone ID these tiny RAF wings? Part of uniform, headdress, sweetheart, medalribbon ornament ???? kind regards, Jef
Mervyn Mitton Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Jef - with this small size, I would say that it is a sweetheart brooch. Looks as if it could be 9ct gold. Does it feel heavy - are there any marks on the reverse ? Mervyn
Jef Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 Thank you for your reply, Mervyn. It's definetely no gold and it is light. Have a third one with small hollow things to fix (5 mm long), not lugs like a regimental badge. sorry for the blurry pic, but you see the way how it can be fixed. Jef
Mervyn Mitton Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 This would indicate that it fitted over pins - perhaps as part of a brooch ? There may also be a possibility that it was mounted above a ceremonial presentation plaque. I wonder what other members will think ? Mervyn
