Two Good Bronze Medallions

This lovely bronze agricultural prize medallion was made in 1874. It is a general presentation, since they have

included most farmyard animals and birds. The artists name is on the front and also, Birmingham.

Just think of the history that has happened over the past 138 years.

Strange that it has an English Church spire on the right - and Zulu huts on the left. Although it was made in

Birmingham and named for Scotland, perhaps they sold the same medallion in Sth. Africa as well - and just

changed the area name ?

This nicely made bronze medallion was made to commemorate the proposed Coronation of King Edward 8th. in 1937

Interesting that the figure of Brittania is holding the Edward Crown and the Sword of State ready to present.

Mervyn I doubt if the they are Zulu huts on the Scottish agriicultural medal more like crofts or grain stores. The Edward VIII medal was struck in bronze and lead, the maker is unrecorded, as you are aware coronation medals fro Edward VIII are much more plentiful than those for George VI, as he never got crowned people bought thenm up in large numbers and treasured them.

Another nice silver Agricultural Show medallion. This one is from South Africa - 1929 - and the famous Boer War

Siege town of Kimberley.

I wonder If this is the Henry Nash Webber, born Glen Lynden Easter Cape 1879, died Aberdeen Eastern Cape 1960, He is the only South African from that period with this name so I would have thought quite likely.
