REME casualty in Malaya 1954

I have been attempting to find out how 22287531 Pte William Faulds Mcauley REME died. His date of death was 29th May 1954

He is buried in Singapore .

I have checked the armed forces memorial and he is on there , this might indicate that he died as a result of enemy action rather than illness
