Gents, here is my collection of royal cyphers: Victoria, Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII, George VI and Elizabeth II:

Alf,

If you get a badge book you can have hours of fun going to militaria shows trying to collect all the numerous police, prison service and other orginisations variants of the royal cypher. I have a friend who collects them and he has display cases full of them and the good thing is they are pleasantly cheap.

Interesting that you found one for Edward 8th. - a touch of the Art Deco style in the 'E'. Mervyn

Oh no, gents, I merely decided to try and get one of each as I encountered them in my British shoulder board collection. They are interesting though. How far back do these cyphers go, I wonder?
