Riley1965 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 (edited) The Polish Order of Virtuti Militari was established 200 years ago by King Stanislaw August Poniatowski. It is the highest military decoration awarded for gallantry above and beyond the call of duty. It is the equivalent of America's Medal of Honor or Britain's Victoria cross.
