dante Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Been on my bucket list for a while.....Soldbuch and Militair-Pass and Citation to Unteroffizier Julius Karl Johannes Wilhelm Laßmann of Braunschweigischen Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 92, EK2 1870 confirmed by Glenn, much research to do….hope you like it…….. Also any help on signatures or what clasps Lassmann may have got would be appreciated, cheers, Paul
Guest Rick Research Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Nice clean group! Regimental commander Oberst Albert Haberland (1818-1907) had remarkably good penmanship. He got both classes of Iron Cross for the war, retired as a generalmajor in Prussian service after leaving Brunswick's still semi-independent army. Anything to indicate what became of Laßmann after his military service? The only entry--typically without first name--I could find for a Laßmann who MIGHT have been him was a retirement General Decoration in Silver medal (AEz) as Eisenbahn-Zugführer in Frankfurt am Main 16.05.1904--in the 1905 Ordensliste.
dante Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Many thanks Rick, no nothing to indicate anything from 1875.......shame but must be something out there, thanks for identifying the signature
