Peter J Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Gent's, I found this excerpt in a 1966 Spink's catalogue, but unfortunately the images aren't good enough to tell apart. Some elaboration would be greatly appreciated, including the other piece in my collection.
Guest Rick Research Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) According to Don Chalif's"Military Pilot & Aircrew Badges of the Wolrd (1870-Present), Vol. I: Europe (Albania-Hungary)," 1982 what you have there is the M1960 2nd republic of Austria pilots' badge "issued on 30 June 1960 and which is currently in use." The postwar badges have the oddly shaped upright pin, while interwars piece have two sort of "vampire fangs." Spink's was WRONG (in 1966!) and showed then current NEW badges as pre-WW2!
