    Opinions on really Odd Tunic

    Recommended Posts

Looking for opinions on the following tunic I've had for around 20 years.

    What is it?

    Is it original?

Are parts original and others not?

    Is related to Weimar?

I only picked it up in the first place because the liner looks like an original standard Landstrum schnitt/M15 type liner. It once had a dressing pocket now gone. Never had a costumers stamp.

The outside is What? Looks like well used very fine woolen gabardine.

The cuffs are sewn done barrel--Looks like it had 2 buttons on each cuff at one time (Weimar?)

The interior lining has a BA stamp to the XIII Korps dated 1915 and R119.

    The collar is rather pointy???

    Any opinions?

    Thanks in advance

    Joe,

It looks like a transitional tunic (simplified) that was later modified by adding some 9/21/1915 features. The collar and shoulder loops have been added and the cuffs have been changed. I have a 1915 dated, XIII A.K. tunic and it has the pre-barrel cuff, i.e. Swedish cuffs that all Württemberg infantry units (that did not already have them) went to in early 1915.
