dond Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Anyone ever heard of an insignia/equipment maker or metal working firm by the name of Schorp out of Stuttgart?
Chip Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) Don, Yes, I have three entries in my data base for K. Schorp of Stuttgart. All three items are dated 1917 and are, a mapcase, a Mantelriemen and the straps for a pair of Steigeisen (climbing crampons). Chip Edited February 22, 2014 by Chip
dond Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Thanks Chip. I believe you can add the MGSSA badge to the list as well.
dond Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Do you have any pics of their mark? Edited February 23, 2014 by dond
Chip Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Anything distinctive about the insignia that would identify this maker? Chip
dond Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Its quite interesting. Here is the badge in question.
dond Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 What is even more interesting is this mini badge. The obverse details are the same as the full size badge above. The back is marked D.R.G.M.
