blauer_max Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) Hello fellow collectors, Found this along with some other stuff today. Just wanted to check what you all think? Is this a period item from the Swedish Brigade? Marked Sporrong Stockholm. Rarity, value etc? Best Regards BM Edited July 1, 2014 by blauer_max
kimj Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 It's an item that is period with those who fought, but not made in 1918 or about. The badge is for the society "Föreningen Finlandskrigare" (society of Finland fighters) and that was started in 1930. Your badge seem to have a late type of Sporrong maker mark and needle. I would expect it to have been made in the late 40ties or early 50ties. Value is perhaps the hardest one. Best price would probably be fetched if sold after the summer on Tradera or maybe eBAy. /Kim
blauer_max Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Thank you Kim, What about the rarity? Best regards BM
kimj Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I have no hard fact about how many were made. But 1000 people in the brigade total, less than that organized in the society and even fewer alive in the late 40-ties. Perhaps they put in an order for 150-200 pieces? That being said, it's not a common pin and I'm sure it would do well at auction. /Kim
blauer_max Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Big thanks! I won't sell it, rather exchange it to some Swedish NS-item. Best of regards from sunny Norrland!
