Gary B Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 (edited) Hi, I was asked to post these pictures by some fellow collectors in one of the other sections. The below pictures were taken by my father in May 44 outside of the Anzio beachhead. He was the gunner/photographer (A-20s in 12th AF) on a low level mission assigned to knock out the lead vehicles on a large german unit that was moving during daylight hours to block the US breakout at Anzio. The unit was later identified as the HG regiment. Dates that my father took the pictures correspond to dates that the HG unit was destroyed pulling in to the Anzio beachhead.
