What is This? A Boot Scraper, a Grill?

This lives outside my garden shed along with other implements that have no practical use - garden forks and spades, lawn mower. lawn roller, branch shredder, fence post digger, rakes and hoes (English hoe's, not American ones).

I have no idea what it is.

Anybody any ideaIs? About 3' long, fitted with a handle and a kind of hook on the hinged stem.

With the long stem driven into the ground next the back door, it would certainly work as a boot scraper, so I'd say that's as good a guess as any.  Interesting bit!

Still can't work it out.

Wife's suggested I post a photo of this for identification as she states I have no idea what this is for either.

In my defence, I did offer to buy her a 2nd hand sit on she could ride around the garden on. but she declined my kind offer.

Doesn't look deep enough between the slats to clean boots.  Perhaps something you pulled behind a rotor to break up soil ?   Mervyn

Can't see it being for that either, I' baffled by this thing.
