derek hicks Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Does anyone have any details of a crew member by the name Adalbert Knopke MtrOGfr (dob 16.12.1922) of U-190. I know U-190 surrendered 14 May 1945 at Bay Bull, Newfoundland. I am led to believe the POWs of this U-boat were despatched to a POW Camp in Halifax. Thanks
Gordon Craig Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Derek,I couldn't find anything on your man but I did find some info that after being taken to Halifax from Bay Bulls the crew of the U190 was dispersed to different POW camps in Canada. Unfortunately, there was no indication as to which camps these were.Regards,Gordon
