I  am  trying  to  carry out  some  research into  the Baden  170  Infantry  regiment in  the  Great  war having just  purchased  a medal  to  a  soldier  from  this unit for  my  collection.  I know  they  were part of  52nd  Infantry  Division  and  they  fought on  the  Somme in  1916. Can  anyone  give me  any more  details of  this unit  and  where  they  fought please? There  seems  to  be little on  the  net about  this  unit or  Division  which  I  understand  was  highly  rated.

    Many  thanks

1915: Loretto, Auchy lez-La Bassée, Loretto

    8.3.15-21.1.19: 52.Inf.Div.

    1915: Bapaume, Serre

    1916: Somme

1917: Alsace, Aisne, Chemin des Dames, Chavignon, Ailette, Champagne

1918: Montdidier-Noyon, Avre, Soissons and Reims, Chemin des Dames, French-Flandres and Artois, Ypres-La Bassée, Monchy-Bapaume, Thilloy, Champagne, Argonnes and Maas, Aire and Maas,

Is that ok for you so far, or do you need more detailed infos?
