Stijn David Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Hello dear Forumfriends Does anyone has information on the assault that the 51 (Highland) Division performed on German positions during their participation at the Third Battle of Ypres - mid tot end september 1917? For example, does their exist written accounts on these events? Casualty's known? Bravery awards rendered for this battle? Thanks in advance
Jef Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Hello Stijn, I'm afraid don't have the 51st divisional history but if I can help you with scans from the relevant pages of "The Third Ypres, Passchendaele. The day by day account."( Written byC. Mc Carthy.) send me a PM. If you really want to dig deep, you can order War Diaries in National Archives. Kind regards, Jef
Tony Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 As Jef says, the unit diaries are in the archives and online too if you have access to ancestry. Do you have any particular unit in mind? Tony
