Paul C Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I just learned that fold3.com has added the UK War Diaries. Below is the description. I thought it may be of interest to members. The UK WWI War Diaries are unit diaries (not personal diaries) via the National Archives of the UK that document operations and movements for British and colonial units serving between 1914 and 1920 in France, Belgium, and Germany, as well as in the Gallipoli/Dardanelles Campaign (in what is now Turkey but was then the Ottoman Empire).
Gunner 1 Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 These war diaries are also available on Ancestry and many of them may be purchased on The National Archives website for a modest fee. Regards, Gunner 1
Tony Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 The diaries are free to view on UK Ancestry this weekend (26/8/16 - 29/8/16) as are other Brit records. http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=60779 http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=60380
