mike y Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 (edited) So I've had this Canadian made MK2 for a couple of years now. Recently I've been informed that the insignia is for the Northumberland Fusiliers, but it's named to George W Foote of the RCASC. Just looking for as many opinions as possible on this beautiful old soldier. Regards Edited September 15, 2016 by mike y
peter monahan Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) That insignia is very faint! I'm afraid I can't make much of it except that it appears to be red / dark / red. A close-up shot of that bit of the helmet might help others make more useful comments. Edited September 16, 2016 by peter monahan
mike y Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 The insignia is red/white/red. Can't take photos as of right now, unfortunately
peter monahan Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) OK, I see that now. The 1st Cdn Corps used a red/white red rectangle with a gold maple leaf on it but that seems unlikely, to me, to be on a helmet. I'd expect a regimental or corps marking.
