I recived these the other day and was wondering if the wraper was part of a cased set, like the one Gordon posted or if they were done both ways?

Well, the 1st one does say "2600 Year" so that is a match-- a cheaper presentation version?

The second envelope is scanned upside down and should be this way:

but all I can read are dates. :(

Thanks Rick  I am in the procces of purchasing some reference books on Japanese medals

Larry ... first German, then Belgium .. now Japanese !! :shame:

Next thing you know it will be Russian !!! :P

P.S. Nice Japanese stuff .... so far the temptation has only been Victory medals from that country

    Hi Darrell

I have restricted my self to German, belgium, Yugoslavia, and Japan for medals.......at this point in time :(:speechless: I have a couple more japanese ones on the way and then I will post what I have, quite a modest amount actually.

The paper wrapper was used to protect the medal when it was sent from the Mint until it was presented. It is NOT a cheaper from of presentation despite what some dealers will try to tell you. It is a protective wrapper, that is all. They normally have the name of the medal written on them and the characters wil match the name on the award box lid, the written style of the characters may be a little different but the characters will be the same.
