Guest Rick Research Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Well, the 1st one does say "2600 Year" so that is a match-- a cheaper presentation version?[attachmentid=32371][attachmentid=32372]The second envelope is scanned upside down and should be this way:but all I can read are dates.

Guest Darrell Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Thanks Rick I am in the procces of purchasing some reference books on Japanese medalsLarry ... first German, then Belgium .. now Japanese !! Next thing you know it will be Russian !!! P.S. Nice Japanese stuff .... so far the temptation has only been Victory medals from that country
Laurence Strong Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Hi DarrellI have restricted my self to German, belgium, Yugoslavia, and Japan for medals.......at this point in time I have a couple more japanese ones on the way and then I will post what I have, quite a modest amount actually.
Laurence Strong Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 (edited) here is the wraper and my cased medal for the 1931-34 Manchurian Incident. Some of the characters are similar! Edited March 30, 2006 by Laurence Strong
Paul L Murphy Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 The paper wrapper was used to protect the medal when it was sent from the Mint until it was presented. It is NOT a cheaper from of presentation despite what some dealers will try to tell you. It is a protective wrapper, that is all. They normally have the name of the medal written on them and the characters wil match the name on the award box lid, the written style of the characters may be a little different but the characters will be the same.
